The Gunners’ latest addition in a very busy transfer window has revealed why he has completed a move to the Emirates stadium this summer.
New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has had a very active transfer window so far in comparison to Arsene Wenger’s summer a year ago.
The Gunners have confirmed that Matteo Guendouzi has agreed to join the club ahead of pre-season.
The 19-year-old joins Arsenal for a £7million fee from Lorient and he has revealed why he said yes to a move to north London.
“It’s something I’m immensely proud of. Arsenal have always been the team closest to my heart and a side I’ve wanted to join since I was a child.” Guendouzi said
“It gives me great pride – it’s incredible. I hope I can do great things here.
“It doesn’t get any better than coming to a club like this, with so much history, like Arsenal. I’m hugely proud.”
The young midfielder is Emery’s fifth signing of the summer as the new boss heads into his debut season with a much stronger squad than Wenger.
