Arsenal's Fabregas shoots to score against Bolton Wanderers during their English Premier League soccer match in BoltonDisagree at your choice but Cesc Fabregas feels his current form is down to luck.

The Spaniard has been in such prolific goalscoring form that he is Arsenal’s current top scorer in the absence of main striker Robin van Persie.

More impressive is the fact that the Arsenal skipper has been netting the goals while being bothered by injury lay-offs – the latest of which saw him only return today since that incredible cameo against Aston Villa in December.

Arsenal’s number 4 continued a fine run of four goals in his last three Premier League appearances with a well-taken goal against Bolton today. That strike also meant Fabregas can make some history this season.

His 13 goals so far this season equals the highest he has ever accounted in a campaign for Arsenal which came in 2007/08. That goal at the Reebok stadium was also his 10th in the Premier League this season – the most he has ever registered in the league.

But while Arsene Wenger thanks maturity for Fabregas’ fine form, the 22-year-old is more grateful to luck for his striker-like goal tally this season.

“I don’t know, just luck, I guess.” Fabregas answered when asked what’s behind his form.

“Because I think when I was younger I had so many opportuinities but they were not going in (the goals) but fortunately they are now and it is good that they keep coming until the end of the season.”
