While there was little to reflect on a dour stalemate with Manchester City, the reunion factor meant there would always be talking after Saturday’s match.

Former Gunners Kolo Toure and Patrick Vieira received a warm reception from Arsenal fans but Emmanuel Adebayor had none of that from the Emirates Stadium crowd.

And despite expecting a hostile atmosphere on Saturday, Adebayor has revealed he went through emotions prior to kick-off.

“When I was in the dressing room it was a little bit strange because I was about to play against those people I was with before.” Adebayor said.

“But at the end of the day, that’s football, it’s part of life – today you are my family but tomorrow I have to work for another person.”

“I enjoyed seeing them (former teammates), we had a lot of chatting before the game and I may see them again tonight.”

Once among Wenger’s troops which often proved formidable to visiting teams, Adebayor feels his side did well to earn a result at the Emirates Stadium.

“It was a good point for us because playing at Arsenal and taking a point is not easy and maybe in the second half we could have tried better but to be honest a point and clean sheet at Arsenal is a good result for us.” he said.

The 26-year-old did reiterate that lack of support from the Arsenal faithful is what forced his departure.

“I am very happy the City fans showed me a lot of love and like I have said before, that’s the reason why I left Arsenal because I was at a club where people didn’t love me anymore and it’s different at City.” Adebayor said.
