The Arsenal midfielder who is on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers went down after a terrible kick in the face in a challenge for the ball during Wolves’ match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Frimpong was stretched off in the 56th minute in severe pain, requiring him to wear an oxygen mask.

The combative midfielder was slowly becoming a favourite at the Molineux as he impressed again today, combining well with goalscorer Kightly in Wolves’ first goal of the match in a 3-2 defeat.

Incoming reports claim the 19-year-old suffered a serious kick in the eye and as a result, the youngster is set for quite a spell on the sidelines.

The Ghanaian has been admitted to the hospital with what has been described as “serious facial injuries”.

This is not the first time Frimpong has been stricken by a big injury blow in his career. The Arsenal boy suffered a serious knee injury in 2010 which kept him out of action for over a year.

And after displaying his strong character by returning to the game in impressive fashion this season, Frimpong’s resolve will be tested again with this new injury woe.

We all wish Emmanuel a speedy recovery.
