Napoli await Gonzalo meeting after fee agreement
Napoli are on the verge of completing a deal to sign well-known Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain.
For so long this summer, the Argentina international had been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium, to the extent that Higuain was rumoured to be preparing for a medical in London.
But after those claims were quashed by Real Madrid officials recently, it now appears that Napoli may be the one to put an end to the Higuain saga after all.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A side has agreed a €35 million (£30m) deal for the Argentine striker and the report has been echoed by Spanish source Marca.
Even so, the Gunners may have not lost out just yet in the deal to secure Higuain since Napoli’s deal is reportedly pending on personal terms with the player being agreed – something Arsenal managed to do before stumbling on a price tag disagreement with Real Madrid.
What is certain is that Napoli does have a friendly business relationship with Madrid after already making the purchases of José María Callejón and Raul Albiol from the Spanish giants this summer.
