Arsenal left Upton Park with all the three points on Thursday after West Ham had given them a scare in 3-1 derby victory.

Another game of two goals from Theo Walcott turned around an early second-half deficit after Carlton Cole had put the hammers 1-0 ahead.

But with the momentum in the Gunners’ favour after Walcott’s brace, substitute Lukas Podolksi added a vital third goal on his return to action as Wenger’s men maintained their title push.

Here were the manager’s thoughts after the full-time whistle.

“I am delighted because overall I feel that we controlled the game but I we had a difficult period where the game could have changed.” Wenger said.

“That was in the first 10 minutes of the second half where West Ham scored. They had a header on a cross which could have made it 2-0.” he added

“That was certainly the turning point of the game but after that we had plenty of chances in the first half, we couldn’t take our chances but after that we responded very well and won the game in a convincing way.”
