Carl Jenkinson is growing into a real favourite at West Ham.

The 22-year-old was sent out on loan during the summer, but the Hammers will not be eager to send him back to Arsenal when this campaign is over.

In the midst of Arsenal’s defensive injury crisis, Jenkinson has cemented his place in Sam Allardyce’s starting line-up after a number inspiring performances at right-back.

The former Charlton youngster has already racked up two assists and won several plaudits for performances which have attracted West Ham’s interest in keeping him on a permanent deal.

Following today’s trip to Swansea City where Jenkinson made a goal-blocking tackle labelled by some as ‘the tackle of the season’, West Ham’s official twitter account called for a ‘man of the match’ poll based on most retweets.

Twitter is indeed dominated by Arsenal fans, but it was no surprise that the impressive Jenkinson scooped yet another ‘MOTM’ award for West Ham after winning a resounding amount of votes.
