New Arsenal player speaks in first interview
Krystian Bielik has no complaints about life at the moment.
The Polish youngster arrived in London a week ago following the completion of a £2.5 million deal between Legia Warsaw and Arsenal.
Despite sealing his transfer ahead of the FA Cup trip to Brighton, Arsene Wenger chose to omit Bielik from last Sunday’s squad due to lack of fitness as the player returns from a winter break.
And indeed, Bilelik has admitted that he was huffing and puffing during his first training session as a Gunner.
“The level of training is really intense. What I have to do individually is really tough. First team training is truly impressive” he told Przegląd Sportowy
“At the moment, I’m exhausted after training, gasping for breath. It’s good for me though, I need it and it will pay off soon.”
Bielik has already been introduced to a few characters in the Arsenal dressing room with Wojciech Szczesny appearing to be the ‘clown’ both on and off the pitch.
“I was told Szczesny likes being the centre of attention, but I haven’t seen that. He told me I could ask him for any help.” the Polish youngster added
“The dressing room is always awesome – everyone is always laughing. I don’t understand everything, but it’s still funny!”
The 17-year-old’s move to Arsenal was engineered by one of the newest members of the Gunners’ scouting team, Tomasz Pasieczny, who spotted the 6′ 2″ midfielder’s impressive displays in Legia Warsaw’s colours.
Thus, Bielik is out to return the favour of his countryman by excelling at his new club.
“I am grateful to Arsenal scout Tomasz Pasieczny. Without him, I wouldn’t be here. I now need to prove him right.” he said
