Jack Wilshere could be back before February ends.

The 23-year-old has been out of action ever since he suffered a severe ankle injury during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in November.

Before being forced off with that injury, Wilshere had been one of the liveliest performers for the Gunners on the night despite missing a gilt-edged opportunity to score the game’s opening goal

Arsenal’s recovery from that defeat has been nearly impeccable and Wilshere has managed to do likewise after returning to training well ahead of schedule at the beginning of this month.

Former Arsenal academy boy is having another injury-plagued season

The England international has managed to participate in recent training sessions and his return date is now around the corner.

According to Arsene Wenger, the midfielder could have made the bench during Arsenal’s FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough, but after being omitted in the last minute, Wilshere will be considered again when the Gunners visit Crystal Palace this weekend.

“He’s two weeks ahead of schedule. I had a hesitation to put him on the bench against Middlesbrough.” Wenger said

“But I thought I wanted him to have one more week of training at least.”

With Aaron Ramsey now back on the sidelines, the Gunners could do with the return of Wilshere whose strike against Manchester City remains a contender for goal of the season.
