‘I will burn my Arsenal shirt if he plays’ – Twitter bashes Arsenal star after another blunder
Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos featured more than just goalkeeping howlers. Quick-fire goals, sloppy defending and end-to-end action was on display from both sides in what was another forgettable night for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Apart from the worrying sight of the Gunners sitting bottom of Group F with zero points after two winnable games, some Arsenal fans are not approving the idea of David Ospina being preferred to Petr Cech in the Champions League either.
Despite a decent record of clean sheets during his debut season, the Colombian has arguably been culpable for a couple of mini-howlers – notably in goals conceded against Tottenham and Swansea last season before he almost fumbled a saved shot into his own net against West Brom.
The 27-year-old, who is often in impeccable form for his country, is yet to win over some fans of his current club.
Always thought Szczesny was better than Ospina, we got rid of the wrong keeper imo

Ospina dropped a similar corner vs Tottenham and got lucky.

Emi Martinez looked better in pre-season than Ospina has looked in any match so far

The thing is, that Ospina clanger wasn't a one off, did the same thing against Spurs last week.

When we first signed Ospina I was excited but he has not shown the ability he had in the World Cup. Too many mistakes and dropped balls.

Overrated goalie, one World Cup and they think Ospina is good, Szczesny over Ozpina any day

If Ospina starts against Bayern I'll burn my #Arsenal shirt

Haha if Neuer had done an Ospina they would have still won. They are clinical we are not. Would not have mattered if we had the quality #afc

I remember a game at Nice when Ospina punched the ball into his own net from a corner. Literally punched.

Ospina makes Willy Caballero look class.

Ospina and our incompetent defence lose the game for us but as per usual, Wenger gets the blame. Might as well blame him for 9/11.
