Wenger: The player we may buy
Arsene Wenger has hinted of a move for an out-of-favour player at any of the big clubs around Europe.
The Frenchman decided against signing an outfield player last summer following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
Wenger has suggested that a ‘lack of quality’ in the transfer market is what forced the Gunners to end their summer business so early.
But with his side in need of a potential replacement for the injured Francis Coquelin, the Arsenal boss has admitted he could pursue a second string player like Chelsea’s John Mikel Obi in January.
“January is difficult but you never know, you can have players who do not play and who have the quality. We will see.” he said.
Despite Wenger’s claims of prioritizing only ‘high quality’ stars in the past, the Gunners boss is known for spotting players who were not household names in football prior to their Arsenal arrival.
Krystian Bielik and Gabriel were Arsenal’s signings from last winter while Kim Kallstrom was brought to the club on a loan deal the year before.
