Following their progression into the first knock-out round of the competition on Wednesday, Arsenal have included a new name in their Champions League squad.

UEFA allows every participant of Europe’s elite club competition to update its squad when the group stage is brought to an end ahead of the winter break .

Josh Dasilva has been included on a 39-man list of players who are eligible to represent Arsenal in the Champions League when it resumes during the spring.

Dasilva is an English youngster who broke into Arsenal’s U18 team two seasons ago. The 17-year-old is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or a striker.

With injuries to first team stars always a concern for Arsene Wenger, options from the club’s youth ranks could play a part in Arsenal’s season.

Wenger will find out his side’s next opponent in the Champions League when the draw for the round of 16 takes place on Monday.
