33-year-old to be announced in Arsenal squad on Saturday
Arsenal will have one more player back in the team this weekend for the FA Cup third round clash against Sunderland.
According to Arsene Wenger, club captain Mikel Arteta – who has been joined by a fit-again Tomas Rosicky in training – is now fit to be named in the 18-man squad which hosts the black cats on Saturday.
“Tomas Rosicky is not far, he’s back in full training next week, so should be available soon. Mikel [Arteta] is available.” the Arsenal manager said
With two of the Gunners’ veteran midfielders on their way back, Wenger also gave a positive update about another midfield duo who have been missed.
“Nothing’s changed [from the original timescale] with Santi. It could be a bit shorter with him because he’s often quicker [to recover] than you expect him to be. Cazorla and Coquelin are doing well.” he added
Cazorla and Coquelin are currently joined on the injury list by the likes of Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez who will not be ready to return this weekend.
