Arsene Wenger has admitted he is concerned about Olivier Giroud’s goalscoring drought as well as the overall decrease in goals from his team.

Walcott and Welbeck found the net in Arsenal’s last win but Giroud has endured a barren spell in front of goal since snatching a brace in the 3-3 draw away at Liverpool.

That form appears to have had an effect on the Gunners who went on a run of three games without scoring before the 2-0 win over Bournemouth recently.

Arsenal were made to pay for their profligacy last weekend as a 0-0 draw – full of wasted opportunities – saw Hull secure an FA Cup replay.

According Wenger, who opted against the signing of a new striker in January, his team will have some scoring to do if they are to secure their first Premier League title in over a decade.

“Its going through my head at the moment, because I agree with you that our goals have dried up seriously” the Frenchman said

“In the last six or seven games we have struggled to score and there are many aspects that I analyse at the moment”

Another man firing blanks is Alexis Sanchez who has failed to score in 19 of his last 22 league appearances.

However, the Arsenal manager is in no doubt that his Chilean superstar will soon be back on the score sheet.

“He’s a highly motivated player and he’s conscious of it as well. He wants to do better.” Wenger added.

“We have to raise our level at the right time. When we attack well, Alexis is very dangerous so we have to attack well together.”
