‘Drop him for the Barcelona game!’ – Twitter bashes Arsenal regular after Watford result
Several players were deemed culpable for the collapse which saw Watford leave the Emirates stadium with a 2-1 victory, but no one has received more of the blame than the Gunners’ main striker.
Olivier Giroud managed to score a goal for the first time in two months on Tuesday, netting a brace in the 4-0 victory over Hull City.
However, the Frenchman – who had a strike ruled out for offside – was kept off the score-sheet by the Hornets on Sunday as Arsenal bowed out of the FA Cup after a long unbeaten run in the competition.
According several frustrated Gooners, Giroud’s shortage of goals in the second half of this season means he should no longer be kept in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven.
Here were the reactions…
Look at Lukaku yesterday and compare him to Giroud today

Welbeck has done more in 20 minutes than Giroud in 70 ONCE AGAIN

Last time Giroud scored in the league he was on 12 goals two ahead of Kane with 10 now Kane has 19 and Giroud's number remains the same.

Welbeck should start vs Barcelona might as well leave giroud at home to shag some prostitutes that's the only way he can score at the moment

To those blaming giroud, we played 12MILLION for him and he gets roughly 20 goals per season, that's a bargain in my eyes, not like…

Don't blame Giroud it's not his fault he's shit, blame Wenger for not replacing him and the other dead weights as well

Zlatan may be 34 yet he is better than Giroud and Welbeck and I would take him at Arsenal without even thinking twice.

Welbeck being our best #9 just shows the state of our forwards. Giroud, Walcott are not good enough especially for their wages.

Lets be fair, which team in Europe will start Giroud in a match apart from visionless Arsenal and tactically challenged Wenger?
