Former Arsenal star Martin Keown insists Theo Walcott is likely to be handed more years at the club despite the current uncertainty over his future.

The England international, who celebrated his 10th anniversary at Arsenal this year, has scored eight goals in all competitions this season.

However, Walcott’s dip in form along with the emergence of Alex Iwobi in recent weeks has seen many suggesting that the 27-year-old should be offloaded by the Gunners this summer.

According to Keown, the forward, who was rewarded with a new £140,000-a-week contract last year remains a man Arsene Wenger s unwilling to sell.

“While Wenger is at the club, Walcott will be there. He fought to keep him with big contracts and shown a lot of loyalty” Keown said

Despite netting 84 goals for Arsenal since joining from Southampton in 2006, Walcott has failed to cement his place as a regular starter in Wenger’s team over the past decade.

“He’s been at the club for 10 years now and I think he’s at a crossroads, but Arsene Wenger certainly believes in him” the ex-Gunner added
