Arsenal have been boosted by reports that Aaron Ramsey is set to resume individual training next week.

The Welsh midfielder has endured another campaign plagued by injuries despite securing a regular starting spot alongside Francis Coquelin in the absence of Santi Cazorla.

Ramsey returned to the sidelines earlier this month after a thigh injury during the FA Cup replay at Hull City saw him limp back into the dressing room.

However, the 25-year-old has made more progress towards his recovery with new reports indicating that he is expecting to be back on the training pitch by next week.

Arsene Wenger also admitted last week that Ramsey could feature very soon as long as everything goes according to plan.

“The players who will definitely be back from injury [after the international break] will be Ramsey, Cech and maybe Flamini.” Wenger said last week

Following the impressive form of new signing Mohammed Elneny, Ramsey may have to settle for a place on the bench if he is passed fit for next weekend’s Premier League clash with Watford.

The former Cardiff City star’s last goal for Arsenal came in the north London derby as Arsenal snatched a 2-2 draw at Tottenham.
