An enquiry from Arsenal about the signing of Danilo Pereira has reportedly been rejected by FC Porto.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium as the Gunners prepare to say goodbye to at least three players whose contracts expire this summer.

Last week, former Arsenal star Luis Boa Morte, now a scout for the club, was spotted at the Estadio do Dragao to watch the Portugal international in action.

But according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Porto have now declined an offer from Arsene Wenger’s side for the 24-year-old, who has a release clause of £29million in his contract.

The report claims a pre-agreement for Pereira to join Arsenal ahead of Euro 2016 was declined by José Peseiro’s side.
