Arsenal have been alerted by the medical staff that Danny Welbeck is facing almost six months on the sidelines again unless further scans this week reveal otherwise.

Welbeck, who has been in impressive form since returning in February, now fears being ruled out of Euro 2016 after limping off in the first-half of Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Manchester City.

Following suspected damage to his meniscus, the 25-year-old will undergo MRI scans in the next 24 hours to find out if surgery will be required.

However, it is worth noting that Welbeck had surgery on his left knee in September and has now injured his right knee.

Therefore, the England international’s new problem is unlikely to be a re-occurrence of what recently kept him out of action for almost a year,
