Arsene Wenger will once again not be able to call upon one of his regular first team players for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Southampton.

Even though Aaron Ramsey, who suffered an injury against Liverpool, was expected to return to action this week, the midfielder will remain sidelined according to a report by the Telegraph.

The Welshman has failed to recover from the hamstring problem which has kept him out of action for a month and it now appears he will also miss next Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Sanit Germain.

Following a 3-1 win over Watford and the double signing of Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi, Wenger’s side appear to be back on the rise after weeks of scrutiny.

One problem which continues to trouble Arsenal is injuries which saw three players – Danny Welbeck, Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker – ruled out of action before the 2016/17 season kicked off.

The Gunners will welcome the Saints to the Emirates stadium, seeking to record their second victory of the season following a slow start which saw them defeated 4-3 at home by Liverpool before a trip Leicester City ended in a 0-0 draw.
