Ferdinand bashes Ozil and Arsenal trio after Saturday’s match
Arsenal’s players have been criticized by Rio Ferdinand for their attitude after the victory over Chelsea this weekend.
A sublime performance saw the Gunners take a 3-0 lead before half-time as they defeated the blues in a Premier League match for the first time since October 2011.
Arsene Wenger’s men did not hide their delight after the final whistle with Mesut Ozil posting a ‘selfie’ of him alongside Shkodran Mustafi, Lucas Perez and Granit Xhaka on Instagram.
However, former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has questioned the need for photos of post-match celebrations from the Gunners.
“Unless you’re winning [a trophy], that gives everyone else ammunition,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“You don’t even have to have a team talk [when playing against Arsenal]. I would put that [picture] up in the changing room next time I play Arsenal.
“I know for a fact there will be players around the country going ‘do you see them lot, they’ve only won one game’.
“I would shut that down [if I were the manager].”
The retired centre-back is not the first man to hit out at Wenger’s side for posting happy dressing room snapshots after a big win.
Leicester City defender Robert Huth recently revealed that social media photos from the Arsenal squad after their 2-1 defeat in February motivated the Foxes to win the title last season.
