Wenger confirms player will miss two games
Arsene Wenger has confirmed at least one player who will certainly not be available for the midweek clash with Basel in the Champions League.
Arsenal are now switching focus to European competition after dismantling Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates stadium on Saturday.
Aaron Ramsey, who has been sidelined for several weeks, was expected to be fit before the month of September comes to an end at least.
However, the Welshman’s hamstring injury he suffered on the opening day of the season against Liverpool appears to be taking much longer to heal.
According to Wenger, Ramsey will definitely not be back in action before the next international break.
“Aaron Ramsey is still struggling with his hamstring and I don’t think that he will be available for our next game against Basel or at Burnley, so before the break he will not be available.” Wenger said ahead of the Chelsea game.
Arsenal have frequently been troubled by injury problems in recent seasons but at the moment, only Danny Welbeck and Per Mertesacker are joined by Aaron Ramsey on the list of absentees.
