Arsenal star: I may leave the club soon
One of Arsene Wenger’s first team stars has admitted that his future at the club is not guaranteed at the moment.
The Gunners are known for seeing out an exodus of players in recent years but after saying goodbye to Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky in June, only Serge Gnabry was then allowed to leave on permanent basis.
Gnabry’s unexpected decision to join Werder Bremen appears to have sent out a message to certain players at the club who are currently not enjoying much playing time.
According to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the idea of leaving Arsenal at the end of the season for a better opportunity elsewhere is now feasible.
“I’d be lying if I wasn’t going to sit here and say that it hasn’t crossed my mind that I need more game time,” the 23-year-old told Sky Sports
“As a footballer, you want to play every game. Me being myself, I’m not happy when I’m not playing.
“There is going to come a time in my career, and I think I’m approaching that, when I do need to be getting more regular football, but my focus completely and utterly now is on playing for Arsenal and still trying to break into the team.
“My sole aim for now is to help Arsenal and keep pushing myself to play in this team, because you know, I love playing at Arsenal.
“There is that in my mind that I do want to get more game time. There comes a time in your career where you have to re-evaluate things and think, ‘Is that going to be here or elsewhere?’
