Arsene Wenger as expressed his thoughts on the idea of moving Shkodran Mustafi to right-back to fill in for the injured Hector Bellerin.

Arsene Wenger, who loaned out Calum Chambers during the summer transfer window, is having to call upon a different man to feature at full-back after seeing Hector Bellerin make that role his own for the past 18 months.

The Spaniard’s ankle injury has handed the likes of Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy a chance to impress for the next four weeks at least.

However, there have been suggestions that neither of the duo are good enough to be starting for the Gunners with some calling for Shkodran Mustafi to swap positions for the time-being.

The German international has played at right-back on a few occasions for his country and Valencia in the past but Wenger insists he is reluctant to make that change.

“I do not want to destroy what works to put a player somewhere which is not 100 per cent his position,” the Arsenal manager said

“You have to keep your strong points in the squad and our central defence has worked well, so let’s not destroy it. Sometimes, to correct one position, you don’t have to change two.”
