Arsenal are reportedly set to be approached by a Premier League rival about the availability of one of the team’s attacking options.

Over the past decade, Arsenal have kept a reputation of usually doing business with their fellow big clubs in England as controversial deals for Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie were all given the green light.

The club often benefiting the most from Arsenal’s willingness to sell to rivals is Manchester City who have apparently returned for some more shopping.

According to the Sun, Pep Guardiola’s side are readying an ambitious bid of $31.2 million (£25 million) for the signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Guardiola has displayed an obsession with skillful wingers throughout his career as a manager and therefore his supposed interest in the 23-year-old, who brings those attributes to the table, is certainly not surprising.

The last Arsenal name to move to the Etihad stadium was Bacary Sagna – as a free-agent – in 2014 but Oxlade-Chamberlain’s potential deal to join the Blues would bring back memories of Nasri’s transfer back in 2011 for most fans.

Despite being somewhat of a much-maligned figure at Arsenal, Oxlade-Chamberlain appears to be a player who has caught the eye of several clubs around the Gunners after Chelsea’s own reported interest not too long ago.
