Wenger on signing new player to replace Cazorla next month
Arsene Wenger has responded to suggestions that he may have to dip into the transfer market again after being hit with a new injury blow.
The Gunners had been in encouraging form for much of the season but the month of November did not offer too many boosts as injuries to key players remained a big worry.
One of the Arsenal stars who failed to make an appearance during the month which just ended was Santi Cazorla who has been troubled by an Achilles and ankle problem.
Following the news that the Spaniard will undergo surgery which will see him miss at least three months, the inevitable question of whether Arsenal will look for a solution in the transfer market has been raised.
However, Wenger insists he already has a replacement for Cazorla in the current squad.
“He’s important to our technical stability in the team, to the quality of our decision-making and to our build-up from deep midfield to the high midfield,” the Arsenal manager said. “That’s an important stage because it gets the ball out from the defenders.
“We have enough quality players in our side to get around that, even if Santi a massive player for us. We are good enough to find solutions despite the fact he’s not there.”
