Rio Ferdinand shows why he doesn’t like Arsenal
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has not held back his criticism of Arsene Wenger’s side even after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Hull City.
The Gunners have seen their hopes of winning the Premier League for the first time in 13 years severely damaged by recent defeats to Watford and Chelsea.
And according to Ferdinand, the signs are now clear that Arsenal are no longer the formidable team he once faced during his early days as a United player.
“In big games too many players go missing,” Ferdinand said
“Arsenal seem to bounce from game to game, never changing approach or reacting to the different challenges, with no real focus on the long-term
“There was a difference with Manchester United between playing Arsenal and Chelsea away,
“We would go to the Emirates and say: ‘We’ll outrun and overpower this team, we don’t even have to play good football.’
“And invariably we were too strong for them. At Stamford Bridge you could not do that.”
