Former Premier League star Alan Stubbs is suggesting that one of England’s much-coveted midfielders is likely to join Arsenal.

With the future of Mesut Ozil still unresolved, the Gunners are believed to be in search of a new attacking midfielder this summer.

Ross Barkley, who is valued at a hefty $63.6 million (£50 million) by Everton, has been deemed as one of Arsenal’s main targets in the transfer market.

And following the Toffees’ recent deal for a new midfielder Davy Klaassen, Stubbs is expecting an Emirates stadium switch for Barkley.

“Looking at those teams I think Arsenal are probably a team that he could go to,” he said

“With Tottenham you have got Dele Alli in a similar position and, looking at Dele, he is ahead of Ross at this moment in time.

“So it’s looking like he’s going to be heading to London – we just have to wait and find out what club it is.”
