Lacazette sends out new hint about Arsenal interest
Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has played down suggestions that he would turn down a move to Arsenal due to lack of Champions League football.
The 26-year-old appeared to be on the verge of moving to the Emirates stadium last summer but the transfer failed to materialize after a bid from the Gunners was rejected.
Lacazette has been deemed as a serious Arsenal target once again, especially with Atletico Madrid, who appeared to be the new favourites to sign him, now serving a transfer ban.
The Gunners are in a favourable position to sign the Frenchman, and when asked if the absence of Champions League football could see him reject an Arsenal move, Lacazette suggested that might not be the case.
“Is the Champions League a deal breaker for my choice? No, but it is important,” the Lyon striker said
“In making my choice, I will look at my position [in my next club], if there are not too many players, so I won’t be benched and I will be able to play.
“The Premier League is interesting. That does not mean I will go, and that does not mean I will refuse to go.”
