Arsene Wenger has secured what is perhaps one of his final deals for the Arsenal squad ahead of his departure after this season is over.

The Arsenal manager revealed two weeks ago that he would be choosing to step down from his role after this season is brought to an end.

With the Gunners set to face another season without Champions League football, many changes are now expected in north London.

Wenger’s decision also means that for the first time in two decades, he will not be responsible for overseeing Arsenal deals during the summer transfer window.

Even so, the Frenchman made perhaps one of his final major decisions as manager this week as Rob Holding was handed a new long-term contract at the Emirates stadium.

The 22-year-old, who was signed from Bolton Wanderers during the summer of 2016, has enjoyed more playing time this season after finishing his debut campaign in promising form.

Thus, Holding has been rewarded with a new contract at the club and after putting pen to paper on the deal, here was the centre-back’s message on social media…
