Arsenal’s list of injured players is set to be reduced with David Ospina now allowed to resume full training on Friday.

The Colombian managed to briefly participate in the first team training session on Monday ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Germany for the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Ospina remains unlikely to be named in the Arsenal squad to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, but his imminent return means that Arsene Wenger will have a senior option as back-up to Petr Cech again.

21-year-old youngster Matthew Macey is the current substitute goalkeeper for the Gunners after the club’s decision to loan out Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez in the summer.

Ospina, who had been sidelined by a shoulder problem he sustained during international duty with Colombia, last played for Arsenal in the 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos at the Emirates stadium.

Wenger has also confirmed that Mikel Arteta, who was coaching the Wales Under-16 team on Wednesday, is also ready to return to full training on Friday.

“I think Arteta will be back in full training on Friday, Ospina as well. After the break, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ramsey [could be] back as well.” Wenger said
