29-year-old asks for move after Arsenal’s transfer enquiry
Arsenal’s latest transfer target has asked for his current club to sanction his exit after submitting a transfer request, following reports of an offer for his services by the Gunners.
Unai Emery has seen his pursuit of Denis Suarez suddenly collapse after failing to agree a deal with Barcelona this month.
Thus, the Arsenal boss has been linked with a move for Ivan Perisic with reports from the weekend even claiming that Arsenal had made an offer to sign the forward.
Inter Milan did not accept the Gunners’ offer but that has resulted in another twist in the transfer saga with the player himself now asking to leave after hearing about Arsenal’s enquiry.
Perisic was left out of Inter Milan’s starting eleven for their game against Torino on Sunday and after the match, the club’s director Giuseppe Marotta revealed that the Croatian had now asked for a move away from the club.
“Perisic has asked to leave but there is no offer for him,” said Marotta.
“We will see in the coming days. We will listen to the request of Perisic. He has put in a transfer request; we must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him.”
