Arsene Wenger will be hoping his side returns to winning ways in this weekend’s showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners are currently sixth in the Premier League and a whopping 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City whom they lost to almost two weeks ago.

Wenger has been left with fewer options in attack following the news that Olivier Giroud picked up a thigh problem which will see him miss the upcoming fixture.

However, the availability of Alexandre Lacazette, who was surprisingly dropped from the starting eleven at the Etihad stadium, means the Arsenal boss might not be too worried about the absence of Giroud.

Assuming the crisis at centre-back has not ended, Mathieu Debuchy, who actually has solid experience of playing at centre-back a couple of seasons ago, should be deployed there instead of Francis Coquelin.

He’s certainly not a popular choice but Debuchy has more defensive tenacity to offer in that position than Elneny or Coquelin.

In addition to that, Jack Wilshere, who often brings the passion and desire required in games like this, actually deserves a start whether it’s at the expense of Mesut Ozil or someone else.
