One of the players who left Arsenal several years ago has confirmed on social media that he wishes to make a return to the Emirates stadium.

Cesc Fabregas decided to leave Arsenal back in the summer of 2011 to return to his boyhood club Barcelona, before moving to Chelsea in 2014 after the Gunners had rejected an opportunity to re-sign him.

The 30-year-old has not always received the warmest of welcomes from Arsenal fans during his returns to the Emirates stadium but he appears to be keen on reuniting with the Gooners.

When asked by a fan about the possibility of him returning to the club to work as a member of the coaching staff, he responded with: “Of course.”

The Spaniard joined the Gunners’ academy from Barcelona as a 16-year-old in 2003 before breaking into the Arsenal first team.

Fabregas managed to score against his former club at Stamford Bridge last season as Arsene Wenger’s men lost 3-1 to Chelsea.
