Arsenal have reached an agreement to secure what could be their first signing of the January transfer window according to reports coming from Spain on Wednesday.

The Gunners are yet to make any new additions so far this month, despite the team’s struggles on the pitch which has them fall further behind Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Champions League qualification.

The club has often been rumoured to be eying a move to sign Denis Suarez from Barcelona this month and a deal is apparently set to happen.

According to Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, the Gunners have finally agreed to meet Barcelona’s £14.2m asking price to sign Suarez on a permanent deal.

Arsenal were initially believed to be mulling over a deal to sign the midfielder due to the club’s strange claim of not having enough funds to purchase players.

But it now appears as though a loan move is no longer the best Emery can hope for with Suarez.

The midfielder is indeed bound for a permanent switch to the Emirates stadium according to the latest speculation.
