Arsenal are closer to losing the services of one of the first team squad’s most useful players according to emerging reports.
Arsene Wenger has so far failed to resolve the contractual situations of key stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez who both have only a year remaining on their contracts.
The Arsenal manager has more worries with another important attacking option Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also yet to renew his deal at the club.
Liverpool have been rumoured to be plotting an offer for the England international who was in rejuvenated form during the 2016/17 season.
And according to Sky Sports, Oxlade-Chamberlain has edged closer to a transfer move away from Arsenal after a collapse in negotiations for his new contract.
The report claims that sources close to the player are indicating there are ‘no new talks planned’ to take place at the moment.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is currently pocketing around $84,000-per-week (£65,000) in wages, was used in the latter stages of last season as an alternative to Hector Bellerin in the right-wing back position.
