‘Absolutely love him, Only positive’: Some fans praise one Arsenal player after City game
At least one of the players who featured in an Arsenal shirt on Sunday evening received some praise from the fans despite the humbling defeat to Manchester City at the Emirates stadium.
Following the 3-1 win over West Ham on Monday night, the Gunners appeared to have ended their awful run of results at the right time with a big clash against Manchester City on the way.
Freddie Ljungberg decided to make only a few changes to the starting eleven from that game at the London stadium as Arsenal chased two league wins in a row.
That saw Gabriel Martinelli retain his place in the team and even though City took only two minutes to score their first goal, it was Arsenal – through the Brazilian youngster – who threatened first.
The Gunners suffered a comprehensive defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side once again but at full-time, one player in particular was receiving praises from the Arsenal faithful.
And that man was Martinelli, who worked hard all night despite the result…
I absolutely love Martinelli. No matter what the result, he keeps on trying & giving 100%. Great attitude.

The only positive thing to come from the game was Gabriel Martinelli.

Martinelli putting his senior colleagues to shame by doing nothing exceptional but just showing the energy and hunger levels required of a professional footballer.

I wish we could have a Martinelli in every position. The boys character is unmatched in this team

Martinelli is 18 years old and fresh out of the fourth division in Brazil and he's the best player in the team at the moment
