Excessive running effects in hamstring injuries

Emmanuel Adebayor will be sidelined for three weeks.

The Togolese hurt his hamstring and was stretched off in pain during Sunday’s derby with Tottenham.

At time of injury, there was evidently little argument he would be out for a while, and Arsene Wenger confirmed the lanky striker who has bagged 12 goals this season faced a three-week absence.

That simply rules him out of the vital Champions League fixture against Roma in two weeks.

“Adebayor is out for three weeks with a hamstring.” Wenger confirmed.

Arshavin looks ready

Wenger insists his side has guns to keep on course without Adebayor, and even with the Togolese poised to return by March, the manager feels there is  enough attacking options to serve as competition.

Indeed, the outstanding return of Eduardo, and addition of Andrey Arshavin leaves little to rue about Arsenal’s depth.

“We have Carlos Vela, we have Nicklas Bendtner, we have Eduardo we have Andrey Arshavin and we have Robin van Persie. We have plenty of strikers.

Perhaps this is a timely turn for other audible strikers.
