Ander Herrera leaves out Arsenal in title prediction, speaks on Lacazette

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has given his prediction on how this season’s Premier League title race will turn out to be.

All of the teams who finished in the top six of the league last season have now played their opening fixtures of the new campaign.

Following Arsenal’s dramatic victory over Leicester City, Liverpool were held by Watford, Chelsea succumbed to a home defeat against Burnley while Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United all registered wins and clean-sheets.

And heading into what is expected to be an entertaining season for the neutral, Herrera believes there will be several teams in the hunt for the title but the Gunners are not one of them.

“If you’re looking for a favourite for the title, then I would back United.” the midfielder said, as quoted by the Mirror

“The race will be very open and the key for me is to avoid defeats at home and to start the season with a run of victories to prove we are contenders.

“Just looking at statistics and at the squad, you can say that Manchester Untied is a candidate for the title – but we need to demonstrate it on the pitch.

“I don’t see many changes in the title race – Chelsea, City, Spurs, Liverpool and us,”

Even so, the Spaniard suggested that the Gunners are out to prove a point this year after last season’s disappointment in the Premier League, especially with Alexandre Lacazette now on their books.

“Arsenal will need a reaction after missing out on the Champions League last season and Alexandre Lacazette is a good signing, so let’s see,” he added.

  1. Lmfao… What else do you expect him to say cuz if you actually ask someone like Ozil, Sanchez or Giroud to predict who will win the league title they won’t place another team above Arsenal… Let’s see by May… My fingers are crossed

  2. You are a stupid HERERA, Did you played Champions league last season???? I can’t imagine a player like you making such judgement just one game after while Arsenal managed to win.

If Arsenal is to compete or win the title: Wenger should sign other talented and skilful prayers, atleast one more striker, and two strong defenders.
