Sky Sports pundit Andy Gray is one man licking his lips to what Arsene Wenger’s men have in store for the new season.

While his colleagues gather their 2009/10 previews in which Arsenal are either tipped to settle for fourth spot again or fall behind any of Villa, Everton or Man. City, the Scottish commentator is expecting the Gunners to excel next season.

Gray is certain he will see the Arsenal of old next term, but it may be an improved one.

“I know what I am going to see from Arsenal this season. A fantastic brand of football and when they go forward, they are as good as some of the best in the country. But on the other hand, I wonder about their defensive problems.” He said on Sky Sports

Martin Tyler’s best foil in the commentary seat on Sky Sports is also adamant the loses of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure can be made up for by the boosting returns of some crocked men and Wenger’s latest additions.

“I think Adebayor and Toure are great players especially Toure who has won a lot and was an experienced man at Arsenal, but with the new man Vermaelen in, I think he was to fill that gap anyway.” Gray said.

“Also, Eduardo has impressed in preseason and there are the likes of Van Persie and Arshavin while Rosicky’s return boots them. I really think Wenger has got some good options.

Andy Gray’s message to fans dreading about what could be another long season?

“So if I am an Arsenal fan, I won’t be scared at the start of the season, I will be up for it.”
