The extraordinary day which began with Arsenal taking just 10 minutes to lead 3-0, with Johan Djourou actually scoring a goal in football, with Newcastle drawing 4-4 from 4-0 down, has now concluded with league leaders Manchester United’s defeat by bottom club Wolves.

Cheer up, this was just a strange day.

Arsene Wenger said “let’s take the positives” following today’s match, and it appears those ‘positives’ were more than just the point earned at St. James Park.

That remarkable end at the Mollineux was a result which saw Ferguson’s side lose more ground in the title race than Wenger’s men this weekend.

Arsenal are now just four points adrift of the top of the league, and more enjoyably for them, the red devils have now waved goodbye to their unbeaten record which threatened to go all season and match the Gunners’ great achievement of 2003/04.
