For the past six months, Sami Khedira has been touted as a man bound for Arsenal but that saga could be coming to an end.

The midfielder’s future at Real Madrid has been the subject of all kinds of speculation but the latest developments indicate that the German may well be staying at the Bernabeu.

With January now approaching, Arsene Wenger is under more pressure than ever to find a defensive midfielder which many believe to be one of the missing pieces of his side’s puzzle.

But Khedira is unlikely to be Arsenal’s next big signing after the 27-year-old’s potential move to London was dismissed.

“From what we know now, the club wants keep him until the end of the season and maybe try to talk again in the summer.” a Real Madrid Fanbase insider said

“The only thing that is keeping Khedira out of the team is his fitness and bad injury record because he is actually the club’s first choice in his position.”

“It is clear that Sami has discussed it with Ancelotti and has agreed to rotate with Kroos when needed since he is working hard to be fully fit again. But he will not be joining Arsenal as far as we know.”

Khedira is currently making progress in regaining fitness after traveling to Morocco with the Real Madrid squad which is set to compete at the FIFA World Club Cup.
