‘Suarez is leaving Atletico for Arsenal’
According to a highly-rated journalist, Mario Suarez is heading to Arsenal.
The news was broken by Eduardo Inda, one of Spain’s most prominent figures in the media. Last month, another reliable Spanish-based source ‘ABC.es’ suggested that Suarez had expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid after an interview with the player.
The defensive midfielder has fallen out of favour at the Vicente Calderon after spending much of this campaign on the bench.

Following the disappointment of being used sparingly by Diego Simeone so far this season, the 27-year-old is now in search of a new club – a scenario similar to the one which saw Mesut Ozil say goodbye to Real Madrid.
Despite his ability which has seen him called up to represent the Spanish national team on a couple of occasions, Suarez is currently behind the likes of Gabi, Tiago and Koke in the midfield pecking order.
The Spaniard has been at Atletico Madrid since his youthful days, spending a two-year loan spell at Mallorca at one point in his 17-year stay with the La Liga champions.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Southampton, Arsene Wenger admitted concerns that his side requires not just a new centre-back but a holing midfielder too.
“There is a need there [in midfield] but the right opportunity has to come up. To buy [just] to buy is not what we want to do, but if the right opportunity comes up, we will do it.” the Arsenal boss said
“If you look at the number of games some players played, and the injuries we have with Wilshere, Ramsey and Arteta, we are a bit short at the moment in midfield.”
