Good news! – Injured key Gunner to have first training on Monday
Danny Welbeck is reportedly set to complete a training session with the Arsenal squad for the first time in over half a year on Monday.
The 25-year-old is yet to make an appearance so far in the 2015/16 season after undergoing surgery in August which extended his spell on the sidelines.
Welbeck was initially expected to be ready for the start of this campaign but another setback saw him go through a knee operation ahead of transfer deadline day last summer.
However, after nine months out of action, the England international is finally set to be welcomed back in first team training on Monday as the Arsenal squad resumes business ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Burnley.
“Welbeck will be in full training next week so that is positive news.” Wenger said
Despite Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the Emirates stadium, Arsenal have been handed several injury boosts ahead of another tough run of fixtures in February.
A fit-again Alexis Sanchez came off the bench on Sunday while the imminent returns of Tomas Rosicky, Francis Coquelin and Danny Welbeck – who are all fit to train – leaves Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere as the only injured senior players.
