Arsenal are set to welcome Laurent Koscielny back into training this week ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Hull City.

The France international was withdrawn at half-time on Sunday with the Gunners trailing 1-0 to Leicester City as Calum Chambers made only his 9th appearance off the bench in the Premier League this season.

Despite an encouraging performance from substitute Chambers, Wenger was left to rue a minor injury crisis in his defence as Gabriel headed back to Brazil for treatment on a thigh injury he suffered in training.

However, the Arsenal boss will be able to call upon the services of Koscielny again with the Frenchman set to resume first team training on Wednesday.

Despite the 30-year-old’s quick recovery from a dead leg, Mertesacker and Chambers are likely to continue their center-back partnership when the Gunners take on Hull City in the FA Cup for the third year in a row this weekend.

The departure of Mathieu Debuchy on a loan deal means that Arsenal can ill-afford any more injuries at the back with away trips to Manchster United and Tottenham Hotspur coming up in the league.
