Gunners ‘submitting €67m request’ for big signing
Arsenal are set to officially submit a bid in the region of £51m this week for one of their biggest transfer targets according to various claims.
Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium with speculation indicating that Arsenal are interested in signing him either directly from Juventus or after Real Madrid trigger their own buy-back clause for the striker.
Local reports in Italy, including a claim by La Gazzetta dello Sport, have suggested that Arsene Wenger and the Gunners will be tabling a bid worth almost €67m for the player by the end of this week.
Morata’s other suitors are Paris Saint Germain who are reportedly keen on increasing his wages to £130,000-a-week.
On the Spaniard’s future in Serie A, Juventus general director Guiseppe Marotta said: “Morata’s future doesn’t solely depend on Juventus despite our desire for him to remain here, but the outcome of the conversations with Real Madrid will dictate his future.”
If Morata does move to the Emirates stadium, it would be the first time the Gunners have signed a goalscorer since Danny Welbeck arrived from Manchester United in 2014.
