Twitter reacts to Arsenal’s rumoured deal for Vardy
Jamie Vardy’s imminent transfer to Arsenal has generated all sorts of reactions on social media – both positive and negative.
The 29-year-old, who finished as top scorer for newly crowned Premier League champions Leicester City with 24 goals last season, is now bound to become a Gunner according to various reports.
Should the transfer be completed, it will mark the latest chapter of a fairy-tale career for Vardy who has gone from playing non-league football to setting a new record for the longest run of scoring in consecutive games in the English top flight.
However, there has been divided opinion about the striker’s decision to swap last year’s champions for the runners-up…not just from Arsenal fans but Premier League fans in general.
Here is a sample of views from both Gooners and supporters of rivals clubs about the Vardy deal.
Is it not a step down for Vardy to join Arsenal? League champion to 4th place trophy? Wenger signing players based on FPL points now.

Mad how a few weeks ago Vardy was one of the best strikers in the league but now he's coming to Arsenal he's 'old' and a 'one season wonder'

Vardy would put his head in where Walcott wouldn't put his foot
Can you see Vardy pulled out of challenges?

Pretty mad that since 2010 Vardy's gone from playing for Stockbridge Park Steels, to winning the PL twice in a row in 2017. What a story.
