‘Thought he would never make it ‘ – Fans surprised by Arsenal star’s form after Hull win
Alex Iwobi appears to be enjoying his football for Arsenal at the moment and not everyone saw that coming.
The Nigerian youngster broke into the Gunners first team last season after a string of impressive appearances in the FA Cup, joining Hector Bellerin as one of the club’s most promising products from the youth ranks over the past two years.
Despite only returning from an injury a week ago, Iwobi was called upon to start a second game in a row as Arsene Wenger opted to keep Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez on the bench on Saturday.
The 20-year-old midfielder went on to repay his manager’s faith by playing a big part in the opening goal before beautifully setting up Theo Walcott for Arsenal’s third goal at Hull City.
It was another display to remember for Iwobi and here were a few fans’ reactions…
Imagine if Iwobi picked England, media would be calling him the next Messi. As he didn't getting no media attention what so ever

Only positive of Alexis playing as No.9 is that Iwobi gets to play on the left. Hard to see him fitting in when Alexis is in that position.

Alex Iwobi is potentially very, very, very good. Great touch, movement, composure & link-up. Just needs to improve his tracking back.

I obviously want Iwobi to succeed but I think some people are clearly jumping the gun a tad. I'd still bench him when Ramsey + ST is fit.
