Wenger: Bad situation with Aaron Ramsey
Arsene Wenger given an update on Aaron Ramsey as the Gunners approach a busy period of fixtures in the Premier League and Champions League.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined for over a month now after suffering a hamstring injury in the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
Ramsey was initially expected to be back in action after the last international break but Arsene Wenger insists he is now unsure of when the Welshman will play again.
“He is not completely free in his mind yet to push completely, so we stop him every time when he has a little pain.” Wenger said
“He is in the last days of his rehab and as long as he is not completely comfortable, we do not push him.
“We had a few disappointments because he was close to joining again and every time he is not completely ready. Not far, but we have to be cautious with him.”
Despite playing a regular part in Wales’ run to the semi-finals at Euro 2016, Ramsey enjoyed a brief rest this summer as he reported back at Arsenal for pre-season in late July.
The former Cardiff City star, who suffered a severe leg break at Stoke City six years ago, has been plagued by injuries ever since he began to show signs of his best form at the beginning of the 2013/14 season.
