Former Premier League star Matt Le Tissier has voiced his opinion about how Arsenal have been faring so far in the 2016/17 campaign.

Arsene Wenger’s men have suffered only one defeat in all competitions since the clash with Liverpool at the Emirates stadium on the opening day of the season.

That rare loss came on Wednesday in the League Cup as Southampton put a dull contest to bed in the first-half with a 2-0 victory.

Arsenal’s exit from the competition is hardly a sign of crisis, especially with a place in the next round of the Champions League secured once again while they sit only three points behind league leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table.

Even so, Matt Le Tissier, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, insists the Gunners have not done enough to deserve much credit so far this season.

“I can only give Wenger a C [grade for performance]. The reason I say that is the least you expect from Arsenal is to be fourth and not win their Champions League group.” the ex-Southampton man said on Sky Sports

“They’re fourth now and will probably pull Barcelona out of the final 16 draw so it’s same old from them.

“It’s all just a bit average from Arsenal, nothing particularity bad but nothing their fans can really get excited about.
